Apple Inc. has announced its
plans to hold on Tuesday, the 18 th of September 2007, another press
conference featuring a mysterious subject. Will Apple announce another
surprising move or is this just the American company’s already known strategy
of drawing both the press and the users’ attention?
However, it is obvious that the
speculations have already started to spread and to say that Apple Inc. is
likely to announce through this press conference the European companies that will
eventually distribute the iPhone on their continent.
Apple has sent the invitations
for the Tuesday press conference since Thursday and the journalists could read
on these invitations one rather strange, than mysterious, line: “Mum is no
longer the word.” So, we ask ourselves again: is this Apple’s usual mystery
strategy or is it something crazily deeper? We will all eventually find out on
Tuesday what it is all about. Till then, however, the suppositions that the
company will indeed announce its iPhone European distributors seem to be
correct. Apple Inc.’s European launch of its iPhone is scheduled for the fourth
quarter of 2007, so it is high time for the company to officially announce its
European collaborators.
In August the German newspaper
“Financial Times Deutschland” has reported that these will be Germany’s T-Mobile (Deutsche Telekom), U.K.’s 02 (owned by Spain’s
Telefonica) and France’s Orange (France Telecom).
