The Phil Spector murder trial continued with a new testimony from a woman that claims to have been threatened with a gun by a drunk Spector years ago.

Dianne Ogden was called as a witness by the prosecutors. She told how 18 years ago, Phil Spector threatened her with a gun after a party, heavily inebriated, asking her to have sex with him.

The woman also specified that she only told her story because she was subpoenaed. Ogden, a music talent coordinator, was apparently in a relationship with the music producer at the time, but it had not evolved into a sexual relationship yet.

Former girlfriend Dorothy Melvin has already testified against Phil Spector, telling how he threatened her with a gun when she tried to leave his house. Ogden called his behavior “demonic.”

The prosecution is seeking to prove that Spector has a long past behind him with repeated incidents of threatening women while drunk and becoming violent when rejected by women.

Deputy district attorney Alan Jackson has called Spector’s behavior “a pattern” that “repeats itself over and over and over again,” and told the jury, during opening statements, “when confronted with the right situation he turns sinister and deadly.”

The defense attorneys claim that the evidence will prove Lana Clarkson, the 40-year-old actress found dead in Spector’s home three years ago, actually killed herself. Spector has pleaded not guilty and has been free on $1 million bail since his arrest. If convicted, he could spend the rest of his days behind bars.

The 66-year-old music producer has been a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee since 1989 and is famous for having created the “wall of sound” technique. Among artists he has collaborated with throughout the ‘60s and ‘70s are the Beatles, Tina Turner, the Ronettes, and Sonny and Cher.
