The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has posted on its Web site the list of nominees for the 60th annual Primetime Emmy Awards. Shows like “The Wire,” “Mad Men” and “Family Guy” are among the finalists. The comedy list includes “Curb Your Enthusiasm”; “Entourage”; “Family Guy”; “Flight of the Conchords”; “The Office,” “Pushing Daisies”; “30 Rock”; “Two and a Half Men”; “Ugly Betty” and “Weeds.”
Other notable omissions from the comedy list include “Desperate Housewives” and “Scrubs.”
The best drama semifinalists are: “Boston Legal”; “Damages”; “Dexter”; “Friday Night Lights”; ‘Grey’s Anatomy”; “House”; “Lost”; “Mad Men”; “The Tudors” and “The Wire.”
The nominees will be announced by Kristin Chenoweth, Neil Patrick Harris and TV academy Chairman John Shaffner in July’s predawn ceremony. The final five nominees in each category will be announced by the TelevisionAcademy at on July 17.
The five finalists in each category will be selected with the help of the blue-ribbon panels’ decisions and the academy vote (50 percent). The top 10 short lists were determined by votes from the television academy.
