Another Iraqi journalist was killed Wednesday in Iraq,
while a mortar attack left behind six dead and at least twenty wounded in the
central city of Fallujah.
Fallujah was under a siege of mortars, at least six people
being killed in the attack and dozens gravely wounded. A US
base located in the center of the Euphrates town was
also hit by a shell, but no casualties were reported.
Also on Wednesday, the news agency Voices of Iraq announced
with great sadness that one of its leading journalists has been murdered. Nezar
Abdul Wahid al-Radi was shot dead near the al-Arousa Hotel in Ammara, a city
east of Baghdad.
Another journalist was killed Tuesday in Fallujah along with
seven family members by unknown perpetrators. The young journalist and his relatives
were killed on their property, the reasons of the ruthless attack being unknown
yet.
The US
military reported that one of its helicopters crashed Tuesday in the Diyala
province, both of the pilots being killed. The Islamic State of Iraq, a Sunni
militant group recently formed, claimed the attack.
As the attacks continue so do the raids of coalition and Iraqi
forces, fifteen more suspected terrorists being detained in recent operations, officials
reported Wednesday.
