If wake up in the morning and remember that you’ve dreamt
that you were the sexiest man alive, then you must have dreamt that you were
Matt Damon. Because it The Bourne Identity star who was named the sexiest man
alive in 2007 by the People magazine.
The famous magazine that started the tradition of the
“sexiest man alive” in 1985 Mel Gibson being the pioneer, had to choose this
year between Adrian Grenier, Ben Affleck, Brad Pitt, Dave Annable, James
McAvoy, Javier Bardem, Johnny Depp, Justin Timberlake, Patrick Dempsey, Ryan
Reynolds, Shemar Moore and Will Yun Lee.
But the winner was Damon, previously recommended by George
Clooney and Brad Pitt starting with 2001. However the actor proved surprised
and reluctant in accepting the award, suggesting at his turn Patriots
quarterback Tom Brady for the position.
“You gave an aging suburban dad the ego boost of a lifetime.
My 9-year-old stepdaughter now thinks I'm cool -- well, cooler. At the risk of
being forward, if you asked me (which you didn't) I would suggest Patriots
quarterback Tom Brady for this award. He's like a taller, better-looking
version of me anyway. Plus, he's the best quarterback in the history of
football,” the 37-year old actor wrote in a letter to People.
The last year’s winner of the title was George Clooney, who
received the same recognition in 1997 too, then it was Matthew McConaughey in
2005 and Jude Law in 2004. The 2003 title went to Johnny Depp, Brad Pitt was
the sexist man of 2000 and 1995.
The Syriana/ The Departed star has been married to Luciana Bozan, with whom he has an one-year-old daughter, Isabella.
