Swayze: The Reason of Goldberg’s Oscar
Swayze: The Reason of Goldberg’s Oscar
Whoopi Goldberg, the 52-year-old ever smiling actress, who won a best supporting actress Academy Award for her role as psychic Oda Mae Brown in the 1990’s “Ghost,” said in US talk-show “The View” that Patrick Swayze was the reason of her winning the Oscar.

During the show which has Goldberg as a co-host, the actress and comedian said that Swayze told “Ghost’s” director, Jerry Zucker: “I’m not making the movie unless you put Whoopi in there.” Furthermore, Whoopi added that when winning the Academy Award “the only person I really thanked was Patrick.”

Moreover, despite the fact that Goldberg hasn’t spoke to Swayze about his health situation, she sent all her support to him. “We want you to feel better- we’ll talk soon, I hope,” she said afterwards blowing a kiss.

Even the rumors were that due to his pancreatic cancer, Patrick Swayze will remain among us for only five more weeks, Dr. George Fisher, said in a press statement that “Patrick has a very limited amount of disease and he appears to be responding well to treatment thus far.”

Whoopi Goldberg is not the only one to show support to Swayze. His partner from the romantic hit “Dirty Dancing”, Jennifer Gray, told the New York Post that she was absolutely “shocked” by the news and said that even though she hasn’t spoke to him since the movie: “If I saw him on the streets today, I’d throw my arms around him and love him up.”

Claire Sweeney, who appeared with Patrick in the 2006’s “Guys and Dolls,” also expressed her support for the actor. “Patrick is a very close friend, a kind and generous man and a true professional. I feel privileged to have worked with him and honoured to have him and his wife Lisa in my life as friends. My thoughts are with them both at this difficult time and I hope with all my heart that he makes a full recovery,” she said
