Disney’s “Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience” has failed to deliver on its chief promise: the concert experience promised to be a ‘real’ experience and to allow viewers to be a part of the crowd in their new 3D concert movie. Despite the fact that the Jonas Brothers 3D movie was the second-biggest opening ever for a concert film behind “Hannah Montana/ Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert,” the concert, which was mostly filmed at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif., left many viewers disappointed. In addition, the movie came in only second place in weekend sales, after “Medea Goes to Jail” which locked up the top spot at the box office for a second straight weekend. Using RealD technology with accompanying corrective lenses, the film is an attempt to capture the concert atmosphere and to introduce the viewers into their favorite musicians’ biography. But the experience is not as good as expected. The main disappointment comes from the fact that instead of listening to the lyrics of their favorite brothers, viewers hear the screams of fanatical fans that gather around the brothers. The image is too glossy, the biography is presented in a superficial manner. In the summer of 2008, the Jonas Brothers starred in the Disney Channel Original Movie Camp Rock. They have released three albums: “It's About Time” (2006), “Jonas Brothers” (2007), and “A Little Bit Longer” (2008). In 2008, the group was nominated for the Best New Artist award at the 51st Grammy Awards, but lost to Adele.
