The Anaheim Ducks recorded a 3-2 victory Monday night in the Stanley Cup final over the Ottawa Senators.
They managed to pull through the losses of Chris Pronger and Chris Kunitz and survive the first period Ottawa Senators barrage in order to get one win away from their first Stanley Cup.

Andy McDonald scored two second-period goals and assisted the winner which came from Dustin Penner in the third period.
Anaheim leads the best-of-seven series 3-1 and can finish the job in Game 5 at home on Wednesday night.

"We're only going to enjoy this for maybe 10 minutes and then we'll have to get ready for the next one," said McDonald, who recorded four goals in four matches against the Senators.
"Hopefully we can use our fans in our own building to get a little bit extra motivated for that next game."

Ottawa had the lead after Alfredsson netted his second goal of the series with less than a second left in the first period. They fell behind due to two Anaheim goals and managed to tie it through Dany Heatley, who had his best game of the finals and scored his first goal of the series with 2 minutes left in the second period.

"He scored a big goal for us to get back in the game," Alfredsson stated. "It gave us some momentum going into the third. Unfortunately, we couldn't get the winning goal."

Only two teams have ever come back from down 3-1 in NHL history to win it in the end: the 1942 Maple Leafs and the 1975 Islanders.

Many of the players who are now in the Senators team were in in a similar position in the 2003 Eastern Conference Final. Senators were down 3-1 to the New Jersey Devils and managed to force a Game 7 but didn’t win it to make history.

Before they go to a potential Game 7, Ottawa must first win a Game 5 in Anaheim on Wednesday.
