Tim Allen is going to direct his own movie, called “Crazy on
the Outside.” After a long career in acting, Allen will star and direct an independently
financed comedy. According to Variety, this is not the first time for Allen to
direct, but only the first time to direct a whole movie. The actor had
previously directed an episode of “Home Improvement,” but that hardly counts.
“Crazy on the Outside” will feature besides Tim Allen,
actors like Ray Liotta, Carrie-Anne Moss, Julie Bowen and Kelsey Grammer. Not
many details concerning the future movie were given, but according to Variety
there will be a shoot in March in Los
Angeles. The movie is going to be an indie comedy about an
ex-convict, who after getting out of jail finds out that life in prison is
actually more exciting that the outside world. His conclusions are even more strengthened
when he enters his sister’s life.
“Crazy on the Outside” is allegedly scripted by
Judd Pillot and John Peaslee. Also, the picture will be produced by Brian Reilly,
Brett Gregory, Richard Baker and Anastasia Stanecki. The executive producer of
Allen’s film is going to be Justin Moritt.
Tim Allen was born on June 13th, 1953 in Denver. He is an American
comedian and entertainer that is known by most of the people for his roles
in the Disney series of “The Santa Clause” and “Toy Story.” The comedian also starred in the “Home Improvement” show
that ran from 1991 to 1999 and that won a Golden Globe Award. However, the
actor was paid only $50,000 per show because of a lifetime of show contract
that he signed.
