Russia striker Roman Pavlyuchenko is set to sign for English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur, the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) reported Wednesday.
BBC Sport quoted a spokesman for Spartak Moscow as saying a deal has been agreed between the two clubs "and the transfer may be concluded by Thursday."
Pavlyuchenko, Russia's top scorer with three goals at Euro 2008, is still in Moscow awaiting a visa that will allow him to travel to London to complete the move, it was reported.
The 26-year-old striker was quoted as saying: "Right now I'm getting my visa and as soon as it is ready I will fly to England to sign a contract. Everything has happened very quickly so I could not even say goodbye to my team-mates."
Tottenham have been looking for a striker to replace Robbie Keane, who joined Liverpool before the start of the season. The deal could also bring movement in the possible sale of Dimitar Berbatov to Manchester United before the August 31 transfer deadline.
