Two Journalists Killed In Iraq
Two Iraqi journalists from ABC were killed Thursday as they were heading home from the office, the head of ABC News David Westin said Friday.

The car containing the cameraman Alaa Uldeen Aziz and soundman Saif Laith Yousuf was stopped by armed men, who forced the journalists out of the car and shot them in cold blood.

Terry McCarthy form ABC praised the work of Iraqi journalists and crew members, like Aziz and Yousuf.

"Many places in Baghdad are just too dangerous for foreigners to go now, so we have Iraqi camera crews who very bravely go out - and without them we are blind, we cannot see what's going on," Terry McCarthy said.

The two leave behind sorrow and pain for their families and fellow colleagues. Aziz and Yousuf join a long list of killed journalists and media workers in the war-torn country since the insurgency began in 2003. Many others have been kidnapped, the case of BBC reporter Alan Johnston being notorious, as his whereabouts and health condition are still unknown.
