An Amber Alert was issued by the Maryland
State police after two teenagers, Sterling
Blackwell, 16, and Stephon Blackwell, 17, were kidnapped from a home near Baltimore on Tuesday at
about 11 a.m. The boys were taken by six gunmen, who were wearing masks,
according to the Baltimore
County police spokesman.
Baltimoresun.com reports that the kidnappers arrived at the
house from which the two boys were taken, which is in the 600 block of Plymouth Road, at 3
a.m. in a gray Chevrolet Suburban. They forced their way in the house in which
there were 10 people: 2 females and 8 males. Spokesman Cpl. Mike Hill said that
after waking up the occupants, the six armed men bound their hands behind
their backs with tape. After about 8 hours, the men took Stephon and Sterling and left in a
black 2004 BMW 645 convertible, which apparently belonged to one of the men who
was in the house.
Moreover, as the BMW was leaving, a male relative of the
boys saw the abduction and approached the car. At this point, one of the
kidnappers fired a shot, but fortunately missed the man. The BMW was found at
about 8:30 p.m. abandoned in the 200 block of N. Glover St. in East
Baltimore.
Even though the occupants of the attacked house refused at
first to cooperate with the police, they finally gave some details concerning
the assault. Police didn’t manage to determine whether the invasion was random
or deliberate. Moreover, it is still unknown whether the kidnappers stole any
money or property from the house.
