Update On Gardasil Vaccine
Gardasil is being advertised as a means to protect against cervical cancer by vaccinating against HPV. Since its approval several years ago, more than 8,000 complaints about it emerged, according to Centers for Disease Control. Nausea, ailments, paralysis, genital warts, blood clots and even death are said to be caused by the vaccine.

There are over 100 different strains of the human papillomavirus and about 40 of them trigger to genital infections. Of those 40, about half can cause cancer. The four types of HPV that the vaccine has an effect on lead to 90 percent of genital warts and 70 percent of cervical cancer. The vaccine is very efficient, but only regarding the prevention of those four types of the virus. However, The New England Journal of Medicine revealed the fact that blocking these strains of the HPV may tolerate other cancerous HPV strains to develop.

Only very few women who have HPV develop cervical cancer. In other words, if a person simply has the virus, she won’t necessarily get ill. Still, nearly all cervical cancers are proved to have HPV virus in them, so infection is a main risk factor for developing it.

Cervical cancer is considered preventable. It can be avoided with regular cervical cancer screening. The Papanicolaou test, as a medical screening method, is designed to detect anomalous or pre-cancerous variations in the cervix so as to be taken out before cancer develops.
