Britney Spears won’t perform this year at the MTV’s VMA, her manager, Larry Rudolph, said in a report on Monday. He added that the troubled pop star tries to erase her memories about the terrible performance she made last year. A spokesman for Rudolph added that "She did the promo for them, but there never were any plans for her to appear on the show."
Last year’s VMA revealed an odd image of Britney Spears. Her look was awful, as well as her moves and dance. She couldn’t perform live and she looked like she was stoned besides the other dancers. In comparison to her VMA performance in 2001, she showed up last year trying to make a comeback but ended up with laughs from the audience.
All in all, last year was disastrous for Britney as it seemed to spread to 2008 too. She lost custody of her two sons and she was taken to hospital twice in January and in February. She started crying during an interview, shaved her head and almost hit paparazzi with an umbrella.
Still, MTV wants Britney Spears badly, as she manages to make a show wherever she is, no matter how bad or good she does it. The 26-year-old pop star arrests the audience’s attention and interest so she makes a lot of money.
Even if she won’t perform at last on September 7, Britney Spears has two nominees for Best Female and Best Pop Video for “Piece of Me.” Along her career, she collected 16 VMA nominations but she is now going down.
Hiding isn’t exactly what it takes for a truly comeback!
