Dark Magazine’s Mojomora Announces New Revamp; Rumors of Collabs with Major Artists, Sony Music Entertainment, and More

Yesterday, Dark Magazine’s founder Ahmed Alamri, a.k.a. Mojomora, posted on his story announcing a new web revamp set to release January 10, 2021. If you’ve been following Dark, you’d know the last revamp was paramount to Dark’s current success today, so this definitely got my attention. However, I have a feeling that something bigger may be in the works here.

Shortly after Mojo’s post, Los Angeles-based marketing executive & A&R Versatile G re-shared Mojo’s story. Several other major recording artists including Jordan Royale re-shared the post perhaps indicating a collaboration of some sort.

On September 9th, 2020 Sony Music Entertainment unveiled a robust podcast slate of high-powered lineup stars at 2020 IAB Podcast Upfront. Coincidently, around October 2020, it became rumored on Instagram (under the comment section) that Mojomora has been in email talks with Sony Music Entertainment and A&R’s from RCA Records.

My guess is that Mojo may be announcing a partnership with RCA under Sony Music Entertainment regarding a digital podcast for Dark. What will the podcast be centered around? — that seems to be undetermined, but I’m definitely sticking around to find out.

Dark Magazine has been around since March 2020 and Mojomora has been substantial to the platform’s growth. In an early interview with VoyageLA, Mojo stated that Dark has just reached 15,000 site subscribers. In just a few months later, he stated that Dark’s reach surpassed 65,000 new site subscribers.

Excited to see what this means for Mojomora and the future of Dark Magazine. Whether it be a music collaboration or a podcast, Dark Magazine has proven to keep all of us intrigued and wanting more.

Stay tuned for more updates on this story!
