DR RICHARD W BOHANNON – Pioneer In Research And Development Of Physical Therapy

In daily activities and sports participation, people tend to get injured over time due to trauma or repetitive movement. These injuries typically result in pain. For some patients, this pain can get extremely discomforting and is usually responsible for a limited range of physical motion. The combination of pain and the limited range of motion can be debilitating for the patient and lead to prolonged suffering. Patients experiencing these issues can lose their freedom to do everyday tasks and usually need support, even for the most basic tasks. Such a life also adds to the mental stress of the already suffering patient and can cause many new issues. Patients can turn to substance abuse because of this loss of physical ability and the resultant mental anguish. Often, these patients seek prescription pain medication that can add to their issues as certain commonly prescribed pain medicines are also highly addictive. Besides the patients becoming dependent on these pills or injections over time, the pain medication can never cure the patient of their underlying issues. The pain medication can only delay the investable pain for a day or two. At the same time, the underlying issues remain untreated. Patients need to seek treatment that can help them make the issues manageable or at least decrease the severity of the issues so the patient can enjoy a degree of freedom and get back to their daily routine

Additionally, suppose the issues remain unsolved over an extended period. In that case, they can expand in severity or damage other related muscles, joints, or tissues, further exacerbating the already desperate condition of the patient. That is why it is imperative to find a solution quickly so the patient can find relief and limit the damage caused by the underlying issue. Physical therapy is one method of established medical care that has proven to be effective in such issues that are usually caused by trauma, surgery, or pre-existing medical conditions. Physical therapy or physiotherapy is a medical treatment method that has been accepted as the most important element in treatment plans for the recovery of strength, physical fitness, and range of motions of patients. Physiotherapy has evolved to prominence due to the dedication and research of luminaries that have worked on bringing innovation and opening new avenues to finding better results. Patients today have been able to receive much better care and have enjoyed better results due to the work of these dedicated researchers in the field of physiotherapy. The previously thought impossible results are now possible due to research and resulting innovations. One such luminary of the field of research in physiotherapy is Dr. Richard Bohannon.

Dr. Richard W. Bohannon is an American researcher in the field of physiotherapy. Dr. Richard W. Bohannon’s work, including educational services, scholarly work, and research, has been instrumental in making a considerable impact on physiotherapy.
