Igor Litvak is a criminal defense attorney and the founder of the New York-based legal firm, The Litvak Law Firm.
Mr. Litvak left his native city of Vorkuta, USSR and came to the United States at the age of 14. He is a graduate of the Baruch University, Zicklin School of Business in Manhattan, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (BBA) with majors in Marketing Management and Political Science.
Mr. Litvak went to the Rutgers School of Law to earn his Juris Doctor (JD) degree, Newark New Jersey, where he was the senior editor of Rutgers Computer and Technology Law Journal as well as the President of the Jewish Law Student Association and the 1L representative for the Student Bar Association.
Before his legal career began, Mr. Litvak gained jury trial experience during his L.L.M., when he conducted multiple jury trials and took advance rules of evidence courses throughout his academic year. He earned his L.L.M. from the Beasley School of Law of Temple University.
Upon concluding his first year at law school, Mr. Litvak began his internship at the Elizabeth Law Department of Elizabeth, New Jersey. The following year, he went on to intern at the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office, where he helped investigate medical fraud cases.
He also worked as a law clerk for an administrative law judge with the New Jersey Office of Administrative Law and as a clinical law student at the Community Law Clinic of Rutgers University.
Upon graduating from law school, Mr. Litvak began working at Portela Law Firm, a prestigious criminal defense law firm in Manhattan, New York. He later went on to set up his own law firm, The Litvak Law Firm, in 2013. Since then, he has served as the lead counsel and co-counsel on several high-profile cases that made global headlines. This made Mr. Litvak a prominent defense attorney.
He is admitted to the bars of New York and New Jersey and is admitted to practice in the US Eastern District Court of New York, the US Southern District Court of New York, the US District Court of New Jersey, Washington DC, and Connecticut.
Over the course of his legal career, Mr. Litvak has represented several clients in local, state and federal courts in some of the biggest, high-profile cases in the nation. As a defense counsel, he has defended clients facing cybercrime, white-collar crime, organized crime, bank robbery, homicide and many other charges.
